Bringing Things Up to Speed

HI YA!

Its been a crazy amazing roller coaster ride thus far and i should be back on a weekly basis to keep this alive. I love my blog and i love having my space to write and talk to myself. Besides, it's the only way of keeping my semi-okay journalistic abilities alive. Currently welcoming the start of November so im crossing my fingers and hoping that this is gonna be a good month!

I realised im such a back logger/procastinator in photography uploads and well, almost everything. My australia trip hasnt even been gushed about properly and i have since lost track of where did i last stopped at. I think it was those gorgeous sand dunes at lancelin with the ah-mazing ocean view. Yes, the view still lingers ever so strongly in my mind.

Had the opportunity to do a road trip in Aussie and so i did.
Its virtually impossible to give up a road trip especially when it doesnt mean driving to Malaysia and back. Just take a look for yourself and see the mere 1/36 amount of pictures i took.

A Sea of Yellow

I could cry just imaging if this was something i could wake up to every single day.
The sounds of water, the smell of the sea and just the natural beauty surrounding this place.

Those stairs were no joke by the way. No joke.

I terribly miss australia and though i want to keep on living in the past, in those memories, i know i must move on and think about my life back in sunny Singapore. Guess it isnt too bad with friends and families here. I guess if i really had the opportunity and chance to be there, i would do it in a heartbeat.

I dont know if you guys can see this or have seen this but one of my friends made these incredible video documenting our trip to Australia so if you're interested, here's the link:

Ending off with these cute little boy and his family who were whale watching with us.
Imagine just taking a short 5-10min drive to whale watch...
So jealous!!

PS: Good luck to everyone having exams (O's & A's)
It'll be over before you know it!

Till next time,

Tough & Mean but not Lean

I've been away for so long im almost ashamed to come back to this backdated space and call it my blog. Well, my carefree time of bumming around and not working has finally come to a halt because i am officially employed. I've been employed for a week now but then again since everything's so backdated, this is considered pretty current news on my blog since there was no hint of it whatsoever.
My job's been pretty interesting so far. Love what im doing so waking up in the morning isn't that hard as i would expect it to be.

Lets see, what else to update?
I  changed my blackberry work phone to a Samsung Galaxy S3. I CAN HAVE INTERNET AND FRONT CAMERAS NOW! Again im kidding, i had internet on my BB just that social networking sites were pretty limited. So S3 is definitely a refreshing change from my blackberry.

Eh, i've also been sick for the longest time (no im kidding, just a week) and i've successfully managed to pass my flu bug to everyone around me. I am the disease and you guys are my carriers. *sniggers* Recovering well now but others are starting to sniff and snort.

In other news, i accidentally destroyed my own fringe by cutting them way too short. like above eyebrow short so i've been pinning it up and i hate my face and my hair and my asian eyes and.....

And... i gained some weight over the past few months and am now frantically on a diet to lose that extra few kilos ( What else is new?) so people who are meeting me for lunch/dinner, please be nice and not tempt me into unskinny, sinful food.

On a serious note though, i've been on a mean streak lately and that's quite bad. You know squeezing on crowded trains have never been my forte and with work being on normal office hours, peak hour timings are an everyday occurrence. And with people annoying me, i just get a little mean. Just yesterday, dont hate on me, i kinda used my knee to gently pushed away this kid that was "in my space" Of course i majorly toned down what i just typed. You had to know that the small girl stared at me and squashed herself with the people opposite me and gave me the "is this space enough for you?" innocent look. SIGH... i am such a monster....

Now, here's just a random slew of photos that are taken from my facebook ( I know, no originality) but yeah okay. Enjoy!

Can You Imagine Me, as a Soldier?

I've been away for pretty long on my blog cause its been a rough past week. Im not going to go into any details or tell why because its such a majorly depressing and sad sob story. The bottom line is i was so out of it last week and i was super moody and feeling-less (if there's such a word)  hence the lack of updates on this personal space of mine. However, things have been looking up this week and my mood is definitely lifting up with the encouragement of my friends, you know who you are so thank you guys.

In case any of you forgot who i am in the past week, this is me, typically

And this is me, acting cute as usual

Please dont puke.

Over the last week, there were a lot of commotion and buzz about the retarded netizens from the online community who were mocking NS men for being weak. Now these remarks went straight to my head because my dad is a SAF personnel and all of us definitely have some current recruits or former recruit friends and i was pretty riled up by those thoughtless statements. I shared the page link on my Facebook profile and added in a F*** you B**** to express my anger. Not exactly the smartest thing to do, especially since i have my family on Facebook but that literally was my reaction at that time. That post is now taken down but here's what i still have to say about the issue.

True Story.

Following all that hype from that issue piqued my interest in reading up more on Singapore's army and having a career there. I started off with reading up on being a DXO, defence executive officer followed by the other career paths such as SAF intelligence, army, navy and air force. I read the individual job scopes and being a DXO, sounded pretty damn boring to me, sitting in an office, making policies, communication plans. Not my ideal kind of job since i think im quite a hands-on kind of person. Then i started reading about girls BMT (basic military training), WOCC (women's officer cadet course) and i wanted to do that. No, seriously, the more i read up on it, the more i wanted to try it out. I told my dad and my brother and they literally gave me "HAHA, ya right, you're crazy" face. especially my dad, he looked at me in disbelief, shook his head and continued watching his show.

So nobody believes me and i somehow dont believe myself either, and i know the training is not gonna be a walk in the park for me, someone who cannot do a single chin up, probably runs her 2.4km in no less than 16mins, waking up at 5am in the morning and doing PTs or route marches, having the strength to carry my rifle and field pack and being out in the jungle where there's *gasps* creepy crawlies.

Its such a joke for me to be in the army, training. The only thing i'll probably be good at is camouflaging, cause no one can see me because of my height and squealing when im all dirty and grimy. But i do have to say, im keeping my options open on my career paths and if the time comes and i need to choose, im keeping an open mind and being in the army is definitely gonna be one of my choices.

So, can you imagine me being a soldier?
